Laser Engraving
What materials can you engrave on?
With today's technology and our dual-laser setup, we can engrave on almost any material — wood, acrylic, glass, leather, coated metals, plastics, stone, and more. Every material requires specific power settings for optimal results, so if we haven't tested a particular material or coating before, we'll let you know the possible outcomes before proceeding.
What's the difference between your two lasers?
We use a Blue Diode laser and an Infrared (IR) laser. The IR laser produces an extremely fine 0.03 x 0.03 mm spot — ideal for intricate metal engraving and ultra-detailed work. The Blue Diode creates a slightly larger 0.08 x 0.1 mm spot, better suited for general materials like wood, acrylic, and plastics. We choose the right tool for your project automatically.
Can you engrave something I already own?
Absolutely. Bring your own item and we'll engrave it — mugs, cutting boards, tools, awards, trophies, and more. Just make sure the surface is compatible (we'll confirm before starting). Alternatively, we can source the product for you if you tell us what you're looking for.
🖨️ 3D Printing
What's the difference between FDM and Resin printing?
FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) builds parts layer by layer using thermoplastic filament. It's great for functional parts, large prints, and everyday objects — durable and affordable. Resin printing uses liquid resin cured by UV light, producing far finer detail at 50 micron layer heights. Choose resin for miniatures, jewelry, and intricate work where detail matters more than size.
Can you print a replacement part for a broken item?
Yes — this is one of our most common requests. If you have the broken part, send us photos and measurements. If you have a 3D file, even better. We can often reverse-engineer a part from a photo or sample. Perfect for appliances, toys, tools, and custom hardware.
What file formats do you accept for 3D printing?
We accept .STL, .OBJ, and .3MF files. You can also send us a link from Thingiverse, Printables, MyMiniFactory, or any model-sharing site and we'll handle the rest. If you don't have a file, describe what you need and we can help source or model it.
👕 Apparel & Sublimation
What's the difference between sublimation and HTV vinyl?
Sublimation bonds ink directly into the fabric fibres — producing full-colour, wash-resistant prints that won't crack or peel. It works best on polyester fabrics and special sublimation products like mugs and puzzles. HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) is a cut vinyl film pressed onto fabric — ideal for cotton and blended fabrics. We can mix both methods on the same item for maximum flexibility.
Can I bring my own shirt or garment?
Yes, you're welcome to supply your own garments. Just keep in mind the fabric type affects which printing method we use — polyester for sublimation, cotton or blends for HTV. If you're unsure, send us a message first and we'll advise.
📁 Files & Design
What image format do you need for laser/apparel work?
We prefer vector files (.SVG, .AI, .PDF) for the sharpest results — especially for text and logos. High-resolution raster images (.PNG at 300 DPI or higher) also work well. If all you have is a low-res image, send it anyway — we can often work with it or recreate your design from scratch.
Can you design something for me from scratch?
Yes. With a background in graphic design, we can create or adapt designs for your project. Custom design work takes additional time and may factor into the pricing — we'll discuss this upfront in your quote. The more reference or inspiration you can share, the faster we can nail your vision.
💰 Pricing & Turnaround
How do you calculate your prices?
Pricing depends on the service, material, size, complexity, and quantity. Our minimum charge for laser engraving is $10. 3D prints start from around $5 for small parts. Apparel starts around $20 per item. Because every project is unique, we always send a detailed quote before any work begins. No surprises. See our pricing guide for starting ranges.
How quickly can you turn around an order?
Most small to medium orders are completed within 3–7 business days. Larger or more complex orders may take longer. We'll give you an estimated completion date in your quote. Rush orders may be available — just let us know your deadline when you submit your request.
Do you offer bulk or repeat-order discounts?
Yes — volume discounts are available for larger quantities. If you're ordering 10+ of the same item, mention it in your quote request and we'll factor that into the pricing.
📍 Pickup & Delivery
Where are you located for pickups?
We're located in the community of Mackenzie Towne in Southeast Calgary. Pickup is by appointment — we'll arrange a convenient time when your order is ready.
Do you offer shipping or local delivery?
